THIS SUNDAY, JULY 27, 2008

This
Sunday, July 27, 2008 is my birthday and everyone is asking if
I'm having a party. No,
I'm not. However, I will be at
the St. Clair Village reunion and at the Black Beauty
Lounge in the Hill District celebrating with
Birthday Girl "Peenie". I
thank God for another year and I hope to have many more.
Of course, I'll be taking all of the hot photos to mark
the occasion and I would love for you to be a part of it.
The Black Beauty Lounge is located at 2037 Centre Avenue in
the Hill District from 4pm - 9pm and the St. Clair Village Reunion
is at Schenley Park at the Vietnam Veteran's grove from 12pm -
8pm.

AUTHOR
VALDEZ THOMPSON PRESENTS
"GHETTO HOT SAUCE"
BROTHA
ASH PRODUCTIONS INTRODUCES A NEW
AUTHOR AND POET "VALDEZ THOMPSON"
Ghetto
Hot Sauce was a way for me to illuminate the often hidden
struggles and drama experienced daily by males living in the ghetto.
That ghetto can be represented by many places and many faces,
including the streets and penitentiaries that that have enslaved
too many of us.
These
poems were not written to glorify violence or bad choices.
They were written to give voice to those who are unseen or unheard,
either in the struggle or on their way there.
If anything within these poems seems to relate to a specific person
or persons, I assure you it is purely coincidental. As you know,
we have all heard that art imitates life and that life imitates
art. I write with a heart of passion and the pen is my shooter.
I'm shooting to give understanding to those who are unaware of
the pain, as well as those who are struggling to find a way out.
To all the politicians and preachers who have already tried
to judge me, I believe there is only one Judge and it is HE alone
who shall render the ultimate judgement. And it is HE who has
blessed me with the gift of poetry.
