The Iota Phi and Omicron Psi Chapters of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. present Talent Hunt 2010: A Showcase of Tomorrow’s Stars on Sunday, March 07, 2010, 2:00 p.m.– 5:00 p.m. at CAPA High School.

Talented youth from area high schools, churches, and community organizations will compete, in the areas of visual art, dance, vocal and instrumental music, and drama, for cash prizes for the top four contestants. The judges will include renowned personalities in the fields of journalism, music, visual art, dance, and drama. Come, bring your entire family, and enjoy an afternoon of outstanding entertainment! You won’t want to miss it, as it will be the talk of the region. The winner of our Talent Hunt 2010 competition will represent our chapters at our Second District Conference.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.’s Talent Hunt idea was created in the fraternity's Sixth District (North and South Carolina) in 1945, and the first District Talent Hunt Program was held in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 19, 1946. The need for such a program was born out of the unequal opportunity for some American youth to develop and give full expression to their talents. The Talent Hunt made its national debut at the 1953 Cincinnati Grand Conclave. The Talent Hunt program provides exposure, encouragement, and financial assistance to talented young people. Currently, some participants at the national level are awarded college scholarships. Additionally, the Talent Hunt is an internationally mandated program for all chapters of our fraternity.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is a historically African American fraternity, established on Howard University’s campus in November 1911. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity members remain very active at the graduate level. Brothers have the opportunity to participate in a myriad of community service projects and to play a major role in the cultural, social, and civic lives of their communities. Past Talent Hunt contestants have appeared on the Ted Mack Original Amateur Hour, the Apollo Theater, Radio City Music Hall, Philadelphia Academy of Music, Philadelphia Civic Center, New York City, Washington, DC Centers for the Performing Arts, the Eastman Theater, etc.
