NATHAN JAMES

CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY EVERYDAY

Brotha Ash Productions CONGRATULATES our own Pittsburgh Actor, Spoken Word Poet & Activist "NATHAN JAMES" on his reoccurring role on HBO's 'THE WIRE" as "Truck", a plain clothes police officer starting this fall.

ABOUT NATHAN JAMES: Nathan James is an Actor/Spoken Word Poet/Activist born in the city of Pittsburgh PA. He recently performed his poem "I too Sing America 2", a remake of the original Langston Hughes poem, on the 2006 Emmy Award nominated documentary soundtrack, "Torch Bearers". Groomed as an actor since the age of 12, he recently received the 2006 AACTA acting award of "Best Supporting Actor" for his role as "Red Carter" in August Wilson’s "FENCES" at Kuntu Repertory Theater. You may also look for Nathan Co-starring in the role of "AL" in the up and coming Indie Film "Pain Within", at the Sundance Film Festival. With Nathan on the cover of "Best Black Plays 2003 - 2006" due for release in the fall of 2006, he is ranked as one of the top 15 poets in the Nation by "Poetry Slam Incorporated" 2005. In the spring of 2006, Nathan was commissioned by The August Wilson Cultural Center to write and perform a poem for one of America’s premiere black pioneers, Mae Jemison (the first black women in Outer Space).
