“Hip-Hop, The Black Family, and Community Survival”
(6 – 7:30 p.m.)

Discussion between prominent Local Rappers/ Community Leaders

Some of the events scheduled include: “Peace in the Hood” basketball tournament, concerts (gospel, jazz, R&B and hip-hop), keynote speakers, open dialogues, vendor booths and a variety of workshops focusing on political action, credit and homeownership, health awareness, social responsibility, violence prevention, community leadership, and self-sufficiency. The overall purpose of this event is to bring the community together from region for two uplifting and fun-filled days by fostering and empowering individuals. There are several ways for you to become involved and or contribute to the event; the most common is by cash contributions. Other ways include in-kind donations of food, equipment, workshop materials, or sponsorship of a workshop.

ADMISSION TO ALL EVENTS IS FREE.

As a supporter you will be featured in or program booklet and on some promotional materials. Over the past decade, CEA has been tirelessly addressing quality of life issues by serving disadvantaged and minority families in the Greater Pittsburgh area. We provide a variety of social services, cultural activities as well as business development opportunities and referrals to over 2,500 individuals and their families each year. Your participation in the 2008 Black Family Reunion Festival is a great way to build relationships with CEA, to introduce your organization to the community and to make an impression on a large amount of people.

• Peace in The Hood Basketball Tournament- Winners of the Basketball will receive sneakers, trophy, and a package from sponsors. The Championship team will play a game versus a celebrity team.
• Arts & Crafts- Will occur at a table ran by the CEA for the children at the event
• Rock Climbing- A big wall will be set up in the

• Face Painting-Will take place at the CEA’s Arts and Craft
• Local Musical Performances- will take place on the main stage
• Spoken Word Performances
• Network Tents- Tents set aside for panel discussions and information sessions. Sessions may include Home Ownership, Aids Awareness and other issues. Sponsors may also have their own session in a tent or can sponsor a discussion or session.
• Panel Discussion On Music Business (Friday) – 7143 Fleury Way Representatives of different genres and different aspects will have the opportunity to talk about what they do and answer questions.
